Lots to discuss. There are numerous new open mics that are starting up, or that we are just becoming aware of.
Please let us know if you see something that needs to be added, needs updating or is incorrect. You can send any updates or corrections

So there are many changes to the website, now it is a regional website for all of upstate New York.
We have been reviewing incredible open mics in the Central NY area in Auburn and Oswego and other markets. In the
Buffalo/Erie County area, there are some new and recently discovered open mics. I will give you a brief rundown and these open mics will be
reviewed if worthy and an article detailing it will be forthcoming.
1) Craft Tap House- East Aurora, 701 Main Street. Wednesday, 9PM. I rate them as the 5th best open mic in Western NY after just
a few short months. John Diebel, long-time area musician well known to many in the area, has taken over the open mic
at what used to be known as the East End Grille in East Aurora. Now that the facility is stable under new management, the place has
taken off. On Wednesday evenings at 9pm, the open mic under the leadership of John has taken off as well. According to John:" The
best open mic is one where the host never or rarely ever needs to play". This is true. John has a great list of talented performers who
are lined up to play here. I would like to tell you about two young ladies who performed here recently at the open mic: Erin and Sam.
They are, as I like to call them, the female version of the Everly Brothers. Erin plays guitar. Their harmonies are beautiful, the songs
simple yet powerful, and together they are the best female duo I have ever heard in the area. Their harmonies and voices are in perfect
sync in a way that is very difficult to match. If I find out more about this duo, I will be sharing it on my website. Put them on your "must hear"
list.
2) Coyote Café- Hamburg, 36 Main Street, Tuesday, 9PM. There is a new sheriff in town, and his name is Dustin Francis. He plays with
the band Black Widow and is the host of the Tuesday evening open mic. He is in my opinion the best performer I have ever heard acoustically.
There is nothing this boy can't play on guitar. He is spectacular. There is nothing that he can't sing. He is the only person who can outsing
Marvin Gaye on a Marvin Gaye song! If you do nothing else, do yourself a favor and go to this open mic.
This is a very enjoyable bar with a great atmosphere with lots of other things to do while enjoying the great music.
Dustin enjoys having other musicians who stop by and play. Two of those excellent local phenoms who do are: Brad Bialy, incredible style and voice,
the versatile performerMike Annello (sp?) who can do it all and play it all. Whether you come to play or listen, you will not be disappointed.
3) West End Inn- Hamburg, 340 Union Street, Thursday, 9PM. This is much like the Coyote Café, except smaller and more intimate and also great
food. Friendly people. Dustin Francis also is the host here along with Lana, the lead singer from Black Widow. The two paired together performing
are an unstoppable force with incredible vocals. Although this is a neighborhood bar, you can sense that everyone at the West End Inn
wants to make someone new feel welcome.
4) Elks Lodge, 55 Main Street in the City of Tonawanda, Thursday 7PM. Hosted by Matt James, this open mic is reputed to be audition sites for
this summer's Canalfest and the Western New York Folk Festival.
5) Dianeagains, 2460 Clinton St. near Harlem, Wednesdays 8PM.
